Obviously made by a master weaver who incorporated style along with
functionality. Lovely swivel over turtleback top. Circa 1880s.

Now here is a very unusual piece from the 1850s!
Sturdy handle is leather wrapped and nicely seamed.
Only 1/2 of the rim and top is padded and covered with leather.
We have no idea what its' intended purpose was but it is very well made!
