Professional Traveling Marionette Theater
This is a truly magnificent theater that would absolutely
come alive in
the hands of a master puppeteer!
Hand crafted during the Biedermeier period. Circa ~ 1880.
Many pieces of original scenery, props, and 31 Czech style
(actually Bohemia at that time) rod marionettes are
included.
Marionettes are 8 inches tall, Dwarves are 6" tall.
Facial features and makeup are wonderfully executed!
Heads, hands, and feet are hand painted ceramic. Legs and torso
are wood.
Arms are made from wire. Costumes are in very good condition
and can be
made to excellent condition with a little effort.
Snow White, Dracula, Frankenstein,
Sleeping Beauty,
and other fairy tales are ready for staging with electric theater
lighting
and customizable switching (Electrification ~1920s).
A label attached to the manipulating handle: Muzbergo Vy Loutky,
and AMP with a clown logo in it's center.
The roll up curtain in the first photo, depicting a Bohemian
couple in regalia,
is oil on canvas and is very vibrant and in superb condition.
Signed Buris E. 42.
60 "W x 12"D x 76"T Closed for traveling.
60 "W x 40"D x 76"T With stage and wings extended for performance.
(Just for reference we will include this note: props, scenery,
and marionettes alone, boxed for shipping, occupy approximately
27cf. This does not include several large pieces of scenery
to travel inside the closed theater.)
The overall condition of this theater is considered excellent
especially taking into account it's age.
However the condition of each piece varies. In general, the
marionettes need
a tune up or re strung. The scenery is clean and in well preserved
shape without mildew. Electrical wiring and fixtures should
be checked for serviceability. Completeness for a specific production
is not assured.
For judging vibrancy of color in the photos above
please use the 1st of the 7 dwarves as a guide, all other marionettes
exhibit this same richness and depth of color.
