Solid, hand carved oak - circa 1780s. Originates from the north of Germany.
All heavy hardware is hand forged.

Very unique hand carving applied with sharp heated needle.
Inscription on back is depicted in the photo above at left and
dates the piece to 1902.
Interesting hand made lock and has sliding dovetail reinforcing for lid interior.
