The No.3 Power Churn - 12 Gallon
Circa ~ 1920s, Electric Butter Churn
This very unique item has a lot of miles and history on it.
Likely to have been made in Michigan in the 1920s, exported to Germany,
survived a war or two and then found its' way back to the USA!
It took a lot of web browsing to learn more about this item.
Butch Allen at www.butterchurnhistory.com, was the only source I could find
on the entire web to provide a direct link to our Superior churn.
Along with his description of a hand powered Superior Sanitary Churn,
as depicted on page 1 of the above 1920s Superior catalog, he included several more pages of the same catalog.
Only minor differences, such as the pulley arrangement, separate ours from
the one described on the above pages 4 and 6.
Thanks Butch, now we know that the only thing missing from our churn is
the lid clamp!
